about

Just as Floyd Red Crow Westerman added a verse about Chief Sitting Bull in Kris Kristofferson’s “Just Another Holy Man” to complete the four races and four directions of our world: the Black, the Red, the Yellow, and the White. I took it upon myself to write a second verse in Westerman’s masterpiece "B.I.A. Blues” for reasons simply to illustrate the politics we are still navigating as sovereign nations within the United States of America. Since it’s formation in 1824 the Bureau of Indian Affairs carries out the dirty work for the U.S. government against our people. While promises evaporated and funding becomes less and less with each passing administration, we remain.
